Final Project

Last part in the series, my boyfriend (aha bf art ^^), Zeeyang and his kodo.

I decided to make this a little bit of....a mockery? I wanted to give him like a panda or pig mount or something, but he insisted hat I give him this tough, manly rhino-esque thing. So, even though he is not too terribly manly ( he's not girly either) I decided to give it to him even though it doesn't match his personality. Neither does the expression on his face for that matter, he never looks angry, and in this he looks very somber. So I guess I am kinda making fun of the guys in video games. Save Zhang He (Dynasty warriors) most guys are very macho, and tough, and they get more armor than their female counterparts.

I feel like I should work on the background more, but at the same time, I feel if there is more detail it would take away from the detail or the armor.

Final project part 3

okay this is me, I think I want to focus more on a girl like thing,....hence all of the...pink and daintyness. Also, I wanted it to be different than my sister's, because she is much more angry, and powerful, and I'm a lot more subtle and girly. I'm not really fond of it, I mean the pink, I like the picture, and I guess I *wanted* to make this a little cliche. Except you don't see a lot of women riding giant war reindeer.

I think I'll do one of my bf because he's not particularly manly unlike those overbuff lobster warriors you see in video games.

So this piece draws inspiration from eudemons online for the mount (Prancer <3) and my character inspired from .hack sign

Final Project part 2

This is the second piece for my final, its my twin sister, Michelle. She plays video games with me often, and unfortunately there are not a lot of girl characters to play as, so I have drawn her as a girl warrior. ^^ She kind looks like Xena to me....... I am really proud of her horse, Snapple Frosty. I am still trying to figre out how I want to display these......


I tried to capture her personality in here as well, hence the darkness of the mood. She doesn't take crap, and whenever she walks around, she looks angry. She's also a Mui (sp?) Thai fighter ^^ I put the flower petals in for a little bit of a feminine feel, cause my boyfirned keeps saying she looks like a bear, or a guy. Then again, the two aren't on good terms

Research Studio final projects thoughts

okay, so I think I have figured out what I want to do for my final project in Research studio. I have not been doing digital art for very long, but the longer I do it, the more comfortable I feel with it, and the more I think about using it permanently in opposition to traditional art which I worked with for 16 or so years.

So for my project, I want to draw people I know or who are close to me as characters, in an almost video game like setting. I was inspired by playing games in which I was not allowed to use my own characters in, or which I had limited customization in.
